beaucoup de viande autour de l'os

Je blog en paresseux la plupart du temps. Entre deux plages du quotidien, je me branche quelques minutes pour divaguer ou pour pointer vers des liens que je trouve cool. D'autres utilisent le blog de façon beaucoup plus sérieuse. Deux beaux exemples ce matin, dans des registres bien différents:

1. L'ami Pabsta nous concocte une série de 10 faits sur le démographie québécoise. Merci Pabsta.

2. Scott Adams s'étonnait hier que ses lecteurs disent qu'il ne donne pas ses vraies opinions sur son blog, alors il a demandé à son lectorat de poser les questions pour qu'il y réponde franchement. Ça prend du guts quand on sait qu'il a régulièrement plusieurs centaines de commentaires à ses billets! Promesse tenue aujourd'hui, il répond à des dizaines de questions. Quelques perles:

Q. What is your opinion on the nature, constancy, and relevancy of time?

A. Ask me again yesterday.

Q. In terms of the Canada/USA softwood lumber dispute, who’s right?

A. I am opposed to soft wood.

Q. Why do most people end up living mediocre, "regular" lives?

A. It’s easier.

Q. So do you think George Bush is really an idiot, or incredibly smart and just plays an idiot on TV?

A. I think he is smarter than 90% of the public. But many politicians are smarter than 99% of the public, so the difference can seem disturbing.

Q. Do you believe in reincarnation and that's why you're a vegetarian?

A. I used to hypnotize people and ask them to recall previous lives. I wondered if there might be something to it. They came up with some great stories. Usually they were Vikings or kings or cool people. Over time I realized that no one ever lived in Asia in a previous life. What are the odds of that? So no, I don’t believe in reincarnation, except that our molecules get recycled.

Q. What's your opinion of yourself?

A. I’m good at some things and bad at others. I’m lucky that there’s a market for the things I’m good at.
